MWANDI DISTRICT HOLDS DEVELOPMENT CO-ORDINATING MEETING (DDCC)

The Mwandi Development Co-ordinating Committee (DDCC) held DDCC meeting on the 3rd June, 2025 at St. Arnold Jassen Catholic Hall to deliberate on various developmental issues in the district.

The DDCC works as a platform for coordinating and evaluating district-level development initiatives. It provides an organized framework for collaboration among government departments and stakeholders, ensuring that development programs are aligned with the district’s Integrated Development Plan and address local priorities. Additionally, it promotes transparency and accountability in delivering services.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Kajimo Kahinga Esq. Council Secretary who is also Co-Chairperson for the DDCC emphasized the significance of the meeting in advancing the district’s development agenda. He encouraged members to be fully present and actively involved, emphasizing that their participation was crucial in determining a way forward.

Additionally, DDCC Co-Chairperson District Commissioner Mwitumwa Kabika stressed the significance of the meeting as a crucial platform for planning, fostering innovation, and promoting collaboration to drive development in Mwandi district.

“I wish to remind you all that the Development Co-ordinating Committee (DDCC) is Law and thus you are all requested to take part as Heads of Department in these meetings with the utmost importance they deserve,” she said.

She urged members to foster an active engagement with the stakeholders (Mafisa, Simahala, etc.) to share and contribute ideas that would drive progress and ensure effective outcomes.

In conclusion, the Council Secretary expressed gratitude to the stakeholders for their perseverance, emphasizing that their dedication highlights a shared commitment to the district’s development.

The meeting was attended by Heads of government Departments and stakeholders in the district.
