Mwandi District, located in southern Zambia’s Western Province, spans approximately 6118.46 km² and has a population of around 39,315. It borders Sesheke, Mulobezi, and Kazungula Districts, and Namibia to the south. The district features both linear and sparse settlement patterns, with higher population densities mainly around Mwandi Lwazamba, Loanja, and Mabumbu. Characterized by high temperatures and low rainfall, Agro-ecological region I dominates the region, with predominantly infertile arenosols.
